At Bell Harbour Dental and PerioInnovations we offer various methods of sedation including IV Sedation to help relax our patients through implant procedures. In addition to placing the implant itself there are certain circumstances that require additional procedures in order to insure safe and successful integration into the jawbone. Dr. Pawlowski is incredibly experienced with all of these procedures and determines their need based on 3D CAT scan x-rays of every case.

Bone Grafting and Bone Regeneration

It is essential to have enough bone to support the proper placement and integration of a dental implant. There are many kinds of bone grafting materials and procedure options that we use to meet your individual needs.  When you come in for your consultation Dr. Pawlowski will assess bone levels in the desired site for your implant and determine if a bone graft is necessary for you. If so, as soon as the bone graft is placed the body recognizes it as its own and builds upon it to regenerate new bone.

Sinus Lift

It is common for the sinus to rest intimately close above the jaw bone and dental implants cannot be placed if the sinus is too low. By taking a 3D CAT scan x-ray in our office Dr. Pawlowski determines the exact location of each patient’s sinus before recommending the corresponding treatment plan. If you are considering implants for your upper teeth, Dr. Pawlowski may determine that the sinus needs to be raised a few millimeters in order to provide adequate room for the placement of a dental implant.

Tooth Extraction with Immediate Implant Placement

If the missing tooth is visible in your smile Dr. Pawlowski can place a temporary crown on the implant the same day of your procedure. This means that you go home with a tooth for aesthetic purposes and won’t have to feel embarrassed by any holes in your smile. The final crown can then be placed by your general dentist when enough time has passed for the implant to have integrated fully with the bone.

Implant Supported Dentures

Implants can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or a complete set of teeth.  Implant supported dentures provide a more comfortable alternative to conventional dentures which allow you to enjoy the temperature and texture of your food. The dentures are securely mounted onto the implants providing you with extra stability and dentures that don’t wiggle around or move.
